|Date:||Sunday March 4, 2012|
|Time:||3:00 pm – 4:00 pm|
|Location:||Paws in Motion, 8935 SW 129 Street, Miami, FL 33176|
|Notes:||Therapy dogs are dogs that visit schools, nursing homes, and hospitals bringing a message of love and cheer. They should have proper greeting manners, leash manners and be able to tolerate dogs and strangers in their environment as well as some vigorous body handling. To work as therapy dogs, most organizations require teams to pass an evaluation, and perform successfully in supervised visits. Some organizations require dogs to pass the Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certification. The CGC is offered by the AKC and requires dogs to pass a 10 part examination, demonstrating their obedience skills and tolerance to handling and strangers. Come learn the requirements for each of these examinations and hone your skills in preparation for them. Your instructor Sheyla Gutiérrez is a Therapy Dogs Inc Tester/Observer and CGC Evaluator, not to mention a Certified Professional Dog Trainer– who better to help you prepare?
Class will be held six Sundays, starting March 4th (skipping March 11th & 18th)
Cost is $125 for the six-week session. Minimum of 4 dogs, maximum of 10.
A CGC test will be scheduled following the conclusion of the class.
